A-MAR is a fluid and oscillating split screen audiovisual project about the sea that juxtaposes, plays with, and meditates on recordings gathered from the coasts of Sintra, Portugal, and Dungeness, England.
Composed of interchangeable clips captured on Super 8, tape, and digital field recorders, which are orchestrated live on Resolume and Ableton, A-MAR is a response to migration, belonging, and memory of place through the performance of fragmentary, subjective and shifting loops.
Through this process it searches for a connection to home in interconnected bodies of water and reflects on the natural environment and our relationship with it.
